well.. if it gets past the impending tsunami, around the never-ending seaport strikes, misses the expected California earthquake and doesn't get car-jacked off the transport truck i should hopefully have it before aug 21. I don't have any more info other than it's already built and on it's way.. dont know if its sitting at a port overseas.. or on a boat. who knows.

i'm on the fence between stone or black interior. The wife has black in her five series and loves it.. so she persuaded me to go with black.. though all of my past rides have had dark gray interiors (sans my g35 coupe also had black interior). She won this battle..

Awesome, I will think good thoughts about your car, to insure it arrives safe and sound. The stone interior is very nice. I also went with the graphite interior and I think that your black on black is going to be HOT!!

That's great news! Glad to see they are finally shipping G37's with NAV. Hopefully mine will be coming soon as well. (no updated news yet on possible dock worker strike)

Nice congrats Bostonmerlin, how long ago did you place your pre-order? Aug.21st is earlier than I think anyone would have suspected.

On a side note, once you do get the car, how will you break it in? I've heard advantages for both soft and hard but not sure which to believe.

I talked to my salesman yesterday and he told me that mine is expected to arrive at the dealership on Sept 7 and that they would have a car available for test driving mid-August.

i'll go by the manual regarding break-in period. Thought i recall it was torture waiting for my g35c to break-in. You are correct.. a search will reveal many threads talking about break-in period.

I ordered the same time that you did, so I hope mine is not too far behind yours! Like you I think I will follow the break-in method that is in the manual. Even though I know it will be hard to stick to it, I would feel better knowing that it is broken in according to the manual.

True, you can't go wrong with the soft break-in the manuals usually go with, but I've heard that a hard break-in can generate a factory freak if done properly. I know someone who does it with each of his cars and the last three have dynoed much higher then normal stock. I would just be concerned about the wear and tear on other items like the transmission etc.
