modding

thought it would be nice to have a thread about modding the g37..

my first mod will probably be some 20" rims, and while looking at the g37 the other day, i noticed there's no fender to roll in the back. one less thing to worry about.. there is no inside lip on the fender, it comes down then goes straight back up on the inside

anyone else have plans for theirs

i'm buying a few things.. not really mods.. but as close as i'll get for the time being.

- first off i'm picking up a new gps radar detector by passport (http://www.escortradar.com/9500i.htm). I've been eying this one since it came out so i might as well add the latest and greatest detector to my new ride
- just as soon as apple comes out with the next gen 80gig ipod i'll pick one of those up, fill it up full of tunes and keep it in the arm rest.
- get a tint job.. as dark as massachussets allows (suggestions on where to get this please give me a buzz!)
- get a suction cup holder for my fastlane toll road pass so i dont have to stick velcro onto my windshield (http://www.lindenline.com/LLP_EZClipTollPassHolder.php)
- will get snow tires and rims sometime before this winter or next. i'll have a winter beater jeep though so i'm not in a hurry. will prob. hit tire rack for this.
- pick up a window shade

oh yea.. cant forget this one..
- a lint free cloth for wiping up the drool i and others will leave on the car.

Thats all for now..

latest rumour is apple expo in paris this september.. new ipods might be released. I hope they're touchscreen.. we'll see. I bought an iPhone for myself and my wife on day one.. love it... but i'd like to keep more music in the car.. not that excited bout the 9gig drive in the car.. i might find a use for it as a quick way to dump a cd from a friend into the car.. but that's about it.

not sure about the headlights or roof, but my grill will most likely be painted black.. are there any pictures of a g35 with black lights, roof, grill?

how dark would you go.. windshield?

im thinking about a color for the g37.. i think IP looks best with the tints.. my color scheme is white, blk, dark gray... might go with white on blk interior.

The best tint in the world, honestly...

40% Windshield
15% Side Windows
5% Quarter Panel Windows
5% Rear Window...

It looks awesome

I wish I could do that. Unfortunately, it's illegal in California.

I like uniform tint, not mismatched. I'm planning to do Huper Optik Ceramic tints 30% all around except windshield.

are any of you concerned about having your g37 be the "first" g37 tinted? i dont expect tinting a car is rocket science but it does some skill and some experience on the car being tinted no?

The G37 windows shouldn't be too different from the G35c windows. It also helps if you go to a reputable professional tint installer.

Oh can't some body shop or the dealership do the tinting? I know my parents would object to me doing something like that to the G37.
