G35 vs G37?
Cosmetically it's a downgrade :P
Performance wise yeah the VHR is definitely a better motor, the 6MT feels like butter compared to the notchy CD00A and the downshift rev-match is actually really cool and saves a lot of heel-toe with track driving. On the street you aren't banging gears like that anyways so it really doesn't matter.
Interior I think it's kind of a wash, any extra electronics you need in the dash are easily remedied with a new head unit.
Suspension wise it's pretty much the same machine.
Personally I think the only real benefit is you have the option of a coupe with AWD, granted it's with an auto tranny but the G35 never had that option.
If you're going to just use NA bolt-ons it's the difference between making 295whp vs 320whp, not a huge increase overall but the VHR engine is an all-around better built block if you want to go FI.
It's been said before and I think it's still perfectly applicable, the G35 feels a little more "racecar" and the G37 feels a little more "luxury car". The NVH aspects of the G35 were definitely smoothed over on the G37.

Honestly I found the 7 AT to be much worse at low speeds, much clunkier. I did feel like the 3.7 pulled harder at the top end but not such a huge difference, especially when you consider the extra weight of the g37. The manual is better on the g37 (acc to reviews no personal experience), but in all honesty the main driving factor will prob be looks, as the rest is minor if you have a preference in looks. Interior of g37 looks much less old to me, but i also kinda like the old school vibe of the g35 since neither is exactly brand new. Just my .02, good luck with your decision.

I like the 07-08 G35X or the 08 G37 coupe the best for automatic G cars. They both share the RE5R05A 5 speed automatic that can be easily rebuilt, modified, and shift kits are cheap. Both engines are very tough (VQ35HR and VQ37VHR) and can handle boost in stock form.
