new g is ugly to me (not as beefy or clean), plus its first generation for the new style. i would wait, but its personal taste.

Ditto, the G35 is sweet, but the G37 is definately something I'd consider upgrading to in a year or two. The G37 looks simply amazing in person, not that the G35 isn't stunning itself.

imo the interior of the g37 is absolutely gorgeous but the exterior is a disappointment. i can't help but think that the 37 is intended for a different demographic than the 35. i do agree with gspothawaii in that you might be safer waiting till year 2 or 3 of the model, so they can work out the bugs and whatnot.

you may get some better responses if we knew why you wanted to upgrade. there have been very strong opinions posted about different aspects of the two cars.

thats a good point. undoubtedly the new model with the throttle body and new engine / tranny are great - but its still a first gen model. looking back, im glad i decided to wait and get my 05 and 06 instead of buying when the first g35 came out in 03... its a very personal choice with the styling, it just doesnt suit me at all. why would you change something so string and sharp looking into what now looks like a modded solara?

I didnt do it

I custom ordered a Red G37S 6MT with Black interior and all options, Premium, Nav, 4WAS, Technology, and even illuminated door sills (see pics). I have VPP so was getting it ~$5000 below MSRP, but decided to buy a Slate Blue 2007 G35 instead and I love it more.

Trust me, it was not a $ decision, the G37 would have been $48 more per month on a 60 mo finance, and I spend more than that on beer in a month. (see pic with my name on the sold sticker for the G37, the wife even test drove it)

I think the G35 is sleeker, smaller and meaner, and mods can put out as much HP as the VQ37HHR engine. Personally, I am waiting for either the 2009 G37 Hardtop convertible or the 2009? G37TT (Twin Turbo). In fact, the reason I even bought a G was because I realized my $1500 down on a GT-R would just result in a long wait filled with disappointment at the end.(some f-er has put down 60k at the local nissan dealership for gt-r wtf ).

Granted the G37 has more power, transmission feels better, more comfortable seats, voice actiavted touch screen nav, it just seemed bulkier to me. I would wait for the G37TT or Convertible....worth the wait....beat up your G35 and enjoy it to the max in the mean time. Who knows, but I hope the TT technology and 4-wheel drive may spill over from the GT-R to the next version of G37, which would be sweet.

I wish!! My dad drove a '72 GT-R for 22 years and then bought a '93 GT-R. $78-85k is a little rich for my blood, specially as a primary vehicle.

Just go FI with your G35 and save money over the purchase of a G37.
