2008 G37s Power Problem

Hello everyone I was wondering if someone could tell me the cause of the problem I am dealing with. I have a 2008 G37s 6 speed manual with 188k on it. It has proper maintenance through out its life to my knowledge. The problem that is happening is that when I floor the petal or even press it too quickly the rpms will shoot up with out it putting down power. It seems like it has boost lag even though it is stock. I have just replaced the driver side timing control oil sensor. I have cleaned my throttle bodies and my mass airflow sensors. It also seems that when I take out my air intake filters the jump in rpms while accelerating is less but it might just be in my head. Hopefully someone can help me out, thank you.

I'm betting you have a 7AT transmission, sounds like an automatic tranny that's low on fluid.

Your clutch is shot and starting to slip.

It will be worse in higher gears, get out on the highway in 6th gear at about 2500rpm and floor it. If the rpm's jump but the car doesn't accelerate it's a slipping clutch. Eventually it gets bad enough to start slipping in lower gears, then it quickly shats the bed and the car won't move at all.

Depending on how badly it's slipping you can limp the car along for quite a while, just be sure to give it no more throttle than it can take. Slipping the clutch just smokes it even faster.

It jumps way more in higher gears. Dang alright man Ill have to get a new clutch. It was a stage 2 clutch but the last owner put it in so it might have been a lie. Thank you

This doesn't mean anything. There is no stage of clutch that lasts forever

In my experience the higher performance clutches have shorter lifespans. Not always due to aggressive driving, higher friction coefficient stuff is built to perform, not to last.
