G37 Hicas
G37 Hicas
So I’m starting this new thread for the people that bought a g37 with the technology package most importantly the Hicas system. Buying mods towards the rear end makes harder with this system simply just getting in the way of of the parts. Such as exhaust makes installing bushing harder bigger diff plate. I’m just wondering is there any sort of way of removing this or a Hicas delete bar. They’ve made for other Nissan but not g37 to my knowledge. Going back and if knew about this I would definitely looked closer to under the chasis. So anyone out there that has done a removal or delete of some sort will be surely appreciated!!
I imagine the V36 RAS / HICAS system works similar to the V35 system. Start by finding the HICAS controller, on the V35 it's deep in the trunk under the carpet on the left side. Literally remove everything including the carpet, spare tire, and the plastic pieces on the side of the spare tire. I'm betting the HICAS controller for the V36 is located in the same spot.
Now disconnect the battery, unplug the HICAS controller, then plug the battery back in.
Now start the car, is there ANYTHING on the dash unusual, I'm betting there won't be since the RAS / HICAS system is a completely standalone system independent of other systems. If that's the case then you should be able to just get a couple rear suspension pieces from a non-RAS equipped V36 to replace the rear steering components and then just leave the HICAS controller unplugged.
If you do have lights on the dash then disconnect the battery, plug the HICAS controller back in, and reconnect the battery. Then ask over at MYG37.COM and see if anyone else with a G37 has done it. This site is basically just for the G35 even though we do have a G37 subforum that predates the MYG37.COM sister site which is also owned and operated by Internet Brands.

Thank you so much for the advice. It honestly feel like I’m gonna somewhere now. But second step I know I’m suppose to remove the Hicas but with part am I suppose to replace it with. Other than replacing the whole rear chasis. I’ve looked and there only lock-out kits for R32 and some Nissan but never found one for g37.
Yes exactly, you would replace the subframe with the non-RAS 4WS one. It's not that difficult, just a bunch of bolts and you will need to get an alignment after it's all put back together. I suppose you could have someone weld up some chrome moly tubing and MAKE a delete kit for it too, definitely wouldn't be difficult to make.
Alternately though, you could just go to a muffler shop and get a quote for them to re-route the exhaust system so it doesn't hit anything. This would hands down be the easiest and there is definitely room to run whatever exhaust you want.
