Questions about G37
I stopped by the dealer the other day and test drove a new G37x and instantly fell in love.
I never jump into anything so i figure why not do some research.
What are you guys seeing for real world MPG numbers...specifically highway. 90% of my driving is done on the highway, and i'd like to do a little bit better than the 24-25MPG i'm currently getting. Sometimes for work, I need to visit vendors and hit the road for a nice 100+ Mile commute.
No major changes to the way the AWD works right? I love how my car behaves in the snow. It goes through anything. I've driven other AWD systems that, well, suck.
I'm also considering a G25x. I'm at the age now where I could care less about 1/4 mile times of my daily driver. My interests have turned elsewhere. Same AWD system as the G35/G37? What about highway fuel economy?

I could honestly say, traveling on the highway around 90-100 mph I got anywhere between 25-27 mpg cruising. I really like the Highway/city mpg on the new g. I did install a CAI, so i dont know if that may have helped

regarding the g25. it's a discontinued model going forward. so i would stay away. also it was 7th of 8 in a comparison test in road and track, or motor trend I forget. they argued who was worse the g25 or the buick.... who likes being compared to a buick.
I just went from an '04 6MT to an '11 G37x. I actually teared up when I sold the 35 - LOVED that car. But the new one is stiffer, better handling, flatter on curves and highway gaps, significantly quicker and a lot more comfortable.
Aside from being just slightly harsher on bumps and having a louder engine/exhaust (which I like so far), the only downside is that I'm afraid I'm gonna hammer the gas everywhere I go, but I don't really care. I don't drive a lot of miles anyway.
I wouldn't even bother with a 2.5 litre. That engine has a marginal mileage improvement and wasn't meant for the car - which is why it's being dropped in lieu of an upcoming 1.8L, 4-cyl turbo Mercedes motor. Pretty much any 2.0T these days will embarrass that lethargic motor.
