I think Yash's shoot is a perfect example of how setting should accentuate the personality of a specific car..

Keep shooting.. you'll only get better my friend.. You have an "eye" for composition.. IMO, that can only be enhanced, not truly taught. Either you have it, or you don't.. Your Pappadeaux pic was my desktop for the longest until I got my bodykit on and started shooting my own ride... Lighting, setting, composition were all on point..

^ Never thought somebody would use my car as a wallpaper.

Yes, I would really like to improve on my photography... if only I could find time for it. I have other hobbies too, which have taken a back seat lately, I hate it.

Shouldn't hate having a great, fulfilling life with multiple endeavors to occupy your time.

I've already made one of my favorites my desktop on my desk and phone... I have really NO photography experience but I've been dying for more pics of my car. I took 201 shots on Sunday and figure some should do well. I agree that the park look may not work, but I took some with flowers at one point anyway (I took more after the group of us split up).
I would greatly appreciate some critique.... again... as soon as I get these damn things up. Maybe tonight.
And this pic is for Will.... hehe

Okay some critique now that I can see the pics.
1. Turn your wheel to face the camera. Seeing too much tire with your wheel faced the wrong way looks awkward.
GOOD

TURN THE WHEEL

this one as well.

I'm not exactly sure what you're trying to lead me to here.. I believe it's Bluebob's ride but G35man04's ride is distracting me from seeing it fully.. I think you were intending to do a creative composition (and that's fine to experiment) but I don't think it was executed how you originally planned.. The wheel intersecting his car is more distracting than creative in my opinion.. This is what I was talking about as far as where your eye is led when looking at a pic. There's no smooth transition to the subject. Same thing about the tire treads that waijai said, think of this as taking a pic of a human and shooting up at them and seeing their nostrils.. (not flattering).. You don't wanna see tire treads unless you're shooting for a tire promo. It's normally not thought of as a focal point. Be weary of the trees and where they are in reference to your shots..
Second pic:
I think there's way more setting than there is subject. You really want to pay attention to the amount of space (negative space) in this case because it's overhwhelming your subject making it look small and insignificant. There's a lot of foreground which is unimportant in this shot. Get in closer to your subject. The shot is also heavy on the left side (because of the direction the car is facing, I know most of your subject is in the middle) with nothing to balance it out on the right. I think a combination of what Yash said about balance of space, and waijai said about rule of thirds applies here..
Overall:
I think the shots could have benefitted from shooting either earlier in the morning or later in the day.. The sun was overhead as I can see from the lens flares on the headlights. It really sucked the detail out of Chris (bluebob's) ride to me.. I didn't get to fully appreciate the details of his ride. Black is really affected negatively by direct sunlight as it really picks up anything that's not black (ie rock chips, it looks like in his front bumper, and harsh reflections) If you shot later in the day, those wouldn't be as apparent and you'd get some nice shadows that'd be flattering to the car and be able to see the carbon fiber weave better in his hood.. I also think better lighting would have helped the location a little more as well since there's nothing really to look at as far as surroundings.. Lighting adds depth and value to your shots because it creates highlights and shadows.. Without proper lighting, everything looks to be on the same plane and very flat.. You lose the contours of the car and that's what we're trying to accentuate.
I've personally shot at dusk in a place very similar to this and got a really warm overtone to my shots because of the relation of the sun to my setting.. I know you've prolly seen these before, but using these as an example on the difference in lighting due to time of shooting. These were shot around 7pm-8pm. On the second pic.. The pole should be removed if I was going to use that for anything.. Friggin poles.. Sometimes you have to just plan to remove things in post production for the feel of the shot.. You can't always help were things are.. I really wanted those lines like that in the foreground.. The brightness makes the car pop because of contrasting colors and lines..
Front:

Rear

yeah I agree with what everyone is saying..to be honest my little point in shoot I dont really use any other settings besides just pointing and shooting....I just take pics to take pics of what is out there. Chris had a nice camera and so did the other guy shooting pics....I havent ever fully experimented with what my camera can to be honest..
the pics with the wheel and chris's I just took a quick pic didnt even see what I was taking it of. If I was to really do a photoshoot I would position my car in perfection for every shot..chris was taking pics..I was taking pics...and the other guy was taking pics as well all at the sametime. I didnt want to move my car around for every pic when I wanted to shoot at different angles. If you notice in alot of my photos I take its just a provide a photo of really what was going on..not technically a magazine shot or anything.
