Cdubel01 your car looks sweet, your headlights are look amazing.

Thanks for the comments Impulse X. I am working on them right now, the acetone tip is working really good, now I am going to do sand down with 800, clean up and then paint again.

Project - that sucks, I hate sanding

If all else fails, all black (no chrome) looks dope!

Is not that hard, just tell yourself that it takes several coats to get it all, instead of trying to get everything in one coat. Also keep constant sweeping movement. The most important thing is prep work (sanding and masking tape) I obviously didn't masked off correctly. I re-did them today, but will take off the tape tomorrow and see how they end up.

everything
Light coats, you cant soak it with paint and expect it not to soak thru the tape.

Also sounds like youre waiting too long to take the tape off. If you let the paint fully dry and then peel the tape youre gonna get flaking/chipping. Try taking it off when its still tacky but not fully dry.

I did the same design with my headlights. Ended up redoing one, I used laquer thinner to remove the paint, it does nothing to the chrome if its wiped off right away.

Is this your 1st time doing this? If so, pretty good i thought. I would have failed. But at least you gave me a visual from the pix w/ the blue. i thought about doing that. But it would look funny, but now maybe back and blue would be better.

I took your advice on removing the tape before it is fully dry and it worked. Thanks, also thanks everyone else for the tips I use other tips mention here to get it done. I will post pictures when I get a chance to take them.

This is my first time painting my headlights, but I painted the grill myself, so I use the same technique, the only difference was masking off the parts I didn't want painting. It is a lil time consuming, at least for me, because I want everything perfect. Go for it, you can always fix your mistake with paint. Just sand it down and redoit.
