This 'topic' is always a fun debate.

My .02:

Anytime you 'smooth' the line of direction and cut down on turbulence of the air flow, it's an improvement.

The OEM intake has sound 'baffles', and this disrupts the air flow to cut down on intake noise, but in my .02 it also degrates the "flow" of air.

The driver (hot seat) might HEAR more of an improvement than 'feel', but I'm willing to bet that it's a benefit to the engine and overall power output (even if it's an extreme minimum).

So, long story short = guys here will say:

"Z-tube gets you more aggressive sound, but it won't give you any HP gains".

Thanks Guys!

None is really any "better" than the other. They ALL improve the flow of air and do so the exact same way.

There are several to choose from, and selecting the right one for YOU, is all up to your "taste", when it comes to:

A.) The Layout of the air intake (does it look stock / does it look more aftermarket.

B.) Sound. (does it add just a 'tinge' of aggressive under the hood tones but not too obnoxious / does it add tons more aggressive sound coming from the hood)

Most here would say:

*1st and foremost, go with a SHORT run length.

Here are the top (2) choices here (just in my .02 of what I've seen here, btw)

*More OEM Compatibility with stock "air trap"; Medium aggressive sound and keeping the "power duct" style air box --> STILLEN

*Less OEM Compatibility with stock "air trap"; Even more aggressive sound with added "Whistle" --> JWT POP CHARGER (has a half cut - heat shield)

Hope this helps?

TRUST ME - I myself am still confused as to what to get...! The JWT Pop Charger is on sale w/ free shipping, so at this moment that is peaking my interest.

Thanks Guys!

There isn't a solid answer. What are your priorities? Sound? Performance?

Doesn't need to, that's what WE are here for.

The JWT POP CHARGER is going to give a tinge more aggresive sound (from what I hear) - maybe b/c it's not packed into the "power duct" hosing like the OEM intake and the STILLEN intake.

"OEM Compatibility" --> What I mean is there is a OEM 'air trap' that connects to the air intake of our car. Open up your hood and look at the intake "Power Duct" housing. Now look to the left. See the long short plastic air intake housing that connects directly to the OEM intake "Power Duct"??

STILLEN'S after market intake actually has a piece that will keep that connection to that OEM 'air trap'. The JWT POP CHARGER does NOT.

*So, less housing around the JWT is probably what gives it a tinge bit louder sound. I'm not sure about the "WHISTLE" noise some owners of the Pop Charger talk about, but I hear it's a nice added bonus.

Hopes this still helps??

Thanks Guys!

I would say 1/2" MD spacer, JWT w/Z-tube, FI Reson TP's and HKS cat, then get a tune and unleash its maximum power ^_^

^ I would agree 100%

My personal goal is:

5/16" MD spacer,
JWT w/Z-tube,
Stillen High Flow Cats,
Stillen headers
Stillen "true dual" exhaust
Techo Square ECU tune

*Of course all that I've listed is top notch "N/A" (Naturally Aspirated) mods.

Going "FI" (Forced Induction) is an entirely new ball game.

If you are interested in that, I have a 10-12 page article from one of my many "Tuner" mags I get that lists out a good many available FI products specifically for the VQ we have. I could scan in and send you way?

Thanks Guys!
