No offense to you Lawrence but I have heard a couple of people make comments like this and have NEVER backed them up with any kind of proof. It's always, "I heard." In other words it's hearsay. The most common complaint about GTM is that they are too pricey. Well, yeah. That's true. They are pricey. Yet people from all over the country (I've seen the cars at the shop) send their G's/Z's/Evo's/STi's to GTM. I have dealt with them on several occasions now and know many people on hear and my350z.com now that have gone to GTM and couldn't be happier. These are first hand accounts. Not "I heard." Like I said, no offense to you Lawrence but comparing GTM to VRT is a joke and a somewhat irresponsible comment to make. Anyone that knows about VRT knows what I am talking about. George from GTM has posted on my350z.com many times and challenged anyone with any proof that GTM has done anything wrong to post up a thread. Guess what, not one single thread with one shred of proof has ever popped up. GT Motorsports is an awesome shop that does great work and has produced many awesome cars. Anyone can go to www.my350z.com and search for the numerous threads of cars that GTM has produced with photos, vids and dyno sheets to back themselves up.

Here are just a few of the many cars that GTM has worked on. You might recognize a couple of them.

this is what happens when nOObs try to make all-knowing threads GP threads...

not tryin to bash the OP but alot of research has to be done to make a thread like this which is why no one has done so. i like sticking to the more part specific threads..

My apologies to the OP for going OT in this thread.
Hexx Lets just say it came from within and from former people who worked there. You know as well as I do things go on that the paying public doesn't know about. I'm not saying they are a bad shop, I'm saying people should do their homework. Like I said it came from another source not me. I will say this same type of thing happened to VRT when people from the inside or were on the inside describe behind the scenes details.
If I was going to spend 10,000 plus at a shop I would make sure they were worth all that and More.
Take Performance Factory for instance, I met Jeremy as a fluke when my car broke down in Orlando FL. A salesman at another store directed me to him. I showed up talked with him and was impressed he took a part off his race car to help me out and didn't charge me. We talked about FI and well if I go that route He will be the one who sells me the stuff and I will send my car to him. We talked about pricing and he showed me his shop. I also saw his work on a few cars I hung out with in FT Lauderdale FL.
What I am saying is I understand your loyalty and others that have had good experiences. I will ask you this do you know for CERTAIN that parts from other cars were not used on other cars? How many times a car gets put on a dyno? What time of the dynos or weather conditions are used to get certain readings. I'm not going to say anymore about what I have been told and by whom. I'm as you noticed before did not want to go into specifics. I just said beware of what might or might not be.
Too many shops act like our friend or act like they are the best and then in the end look what happens and the G drivers get pissed or feel raped.
Again this is my opinion and based on what I have been told.
Sorry to jack the thread..

I know who you heard this from. It's someone associated with a competing shop, that's all I will say because I don't want to turn this into a pointless war of words. Like I said, George from GTM already challenged their detractors to post a thread on my350z.com showing any proof of wrongdoing on GTM's part and it has never happened. What a shock that a competitor would badmouth someone like GTM because GTM has a huge foothold on the performance scene in SoCal. All I will say is try dealing with Sam or George at GTM and your opinion of them will change. I think it is unfair to give an opinion of a shop simply off of hearsay when you have never dealt with them. I'll leave it at that. A bunch of GTM cars will be getting together to track our cars in early Feb. Sam and George will be there too. Even Shariff from Forged Performance is supposed to be there (another top VQ tuner in the country). So anyone that doubts GTM or GTM cars can show up and see the quality of work that GTM puts out.

GTM keeps detailed accounts of all dynos and invoices. VRT never did that. The very few times that someone has called out Sam or GTM he has always posted a response with specific details backed up by dynos and copies of invoices. They are very detailed in what they do to cover their a$$es. The final thing that I will say is that maybe you should also consider the source that you are hearing this from. There's always two sides to every story.

I agree. Everyone needs to hear about good shops and bad shops. The only problem is that whenever anyone badmouths GTM, it's ALWAYS "I heard." No one has ever come forward with one shred of proof of any wrongdoing by them. On the other hand you have countless customers and other top shops around the country that have dealt with GTM and will vouch for them. With that said, I will end this. Once again, I apologize to the OP. I have dealt with GTM numerous times in person and on the phone and spoken with Sam, George, Nick and Pablo from GTM many times. I also know numerous people that have now dealt with GTM and never heard a single bad word. So anytime anyone bashes them, I feel compelled to respond. The only people that bash GTM are people that have never dealt with them. Go figure.

I did not make it for us who know what we are doing. I made it for us who get tired of people asking the same 5 questions. I am clearing it up now. Thanks for your comment.

Don't worry, you'll still see the same old 5 posts a week from now.

Venture out of this forum and into the Tech Area. That's where the big boys play.
