I just watched that video and that is very scary. I really hope Infiniti does not pull something like that off. I would mark my old oil filter to make sure they change it if I could get to it from under the car.

$43 at my dealer for Castrol Syntec including a wash.
I used to pay $60 for my Corvette for Mobil 1 so I think my Infiniti dealer is about right.
But I may try the local Nissan dealer the next time to see what they charge.

I SERIOUSLY doubt they are putting Mobil 1 Full Synthetic in their cars.. no way dealer will charge $4x for that.

Even at the Infiniti dealerships, god knows whats going into our cars. What oil do they really use? I dont know, call me paranoid but id rather do it myself and avoid me a headache.

On another note. They charge only $45 oil change service at a dealership. That is very cheap considering thats what it cost just in oil and filter for me to do an oil change. The mobil1 filter is about $10 and i pay about $6/quart for Mobil1 ext perf full syn. I buy 5 quarts + the filter obviously and fill up the car with 4 and a half quarts. The other left over i use it for the next time around only purchasing 4 quarts etc etc etc. SOOOO i still dont get how it can be so cheap. At the dealership they charge $75-$100 an hour for mechanical service..... Oh and you get a free car wash which totally screws your paint! They wash your car with dirty rags and a brush! lol i dont know just exagerating.

They do charge me 40. I guess they're not using synthetic. Should I be using synthetic? I hope that's not true about the car wash because they've washed mine a few times.

the service manager at infiniti of annapolis recommeded that i shouldn't switch to synthetic until after 10k miles. he's certain that the oil consumption problem is related to putting in synth. before proper ring seating.

$55 here in Miami for regular oil.

I no longer take it to the dealer. I buy my own oil and filter and take it to my local shop and they do the oil change for me. Everything comes out to about $45 plus I get better oil and a better filter.
