Yo,

My heater/air conditioning controls all of a sudden stopped working. I cannot activate any of the buttons and the screen does not turn on at all. I have an 04 6MT...

Anyone know what happened here?

 

This is happening to my Car also, I didnt drive it for two weeks and when I drove it the control lights go off and the A/C goes to max at 60 deg. what gives? when I turn the car off and restart it is goes back to normal operation then in a day or tow it does it again...

 

Similar problem here...I disconnected the battery last night and will re-connect after work to see if it resolves the problem. I've had intermittent 'gremlins' with my controls for a long time -- instrument lights might be on or off for no particular reason, etc.

I'll post tonight and let everyone know if the battery disconnect (effectively an ECU reset) helped. A pedal-method ECU reset did NOT change the issue.

 

IT WORKED!!! Dash is back to normal function, plus I got a for-sure ECU reset. Had to reset my radio presets, and my power seat preset, but no big deal.

 

Damn, it's back at it. No stack lights, AC comes on set for 20C and none of the stack buttons work or even light up. I can turn on the radio from the steering wheel, but not change the volume and only intermittently the station. Weird and annoying. I've disconnected the battery again overnight, and I think I'll check some fuses in the morning.

Anybody else with this issue and, more importantly, a solution??

 

Well its gotten wosre! its now doing it all the time

 

Mine's still intermittent. Works fine, then once for a while today did it again. I PMed Rick (I think) at Riverside to see if he knew what part we need to replace, still waiting to hear. I've sent an e-mail to my local service manager, too.

 

exactly the same thing happening with me swivel, this is annoying, any one kno how to fix this???, im gonna take it to infiniti today and get it checked out

 

If you're taking it in, let us all know. Ken Day from there is a member here on Driver and I sent him an e-mail as well.

i went to infiniti and they said id have to make an appointment and bring it back another day. they couldnt say what was wrong wit the car unless they try to pull some codes and stuff

 

you need a cd/radio unit.

possible you also need a finisher. (circuit board with all the buttons on it)

 

hey so i brought my car into infiniti this morning they said it would be approx under $260 to fix it but im still waiting for a phone call from them to see what the prob is. its 1:40 pm right now they said it be done by latest 3

 

your right on, just spent 200$ to hear exactly what he told me.
need a new cd player cuz it controls the hvac. the cluster lights they think also got messed up cuz of the cd player.

 

Is that a for sure $260 to fix? I talked to Ken and he quoted $325 exchange for a new head unit/hvac control plus 1.5 hrs labour to swap it. Let me know how yours turns out.

okayyy so i think im gonna have to kick the S*** outta the tech who worked on my car.
they said to replace the headunit yes and i doubt its 1.5 hours of labour ill do it at home in 30 mins. but all said and done they made me pay a 150 bucks to tell me what to do. then i drive my car off the lot and guess what the fuel guages the rpm the speedo nothing works, first it was just the lights and they made it worse so i go back in and they said oh well leave ur car here over night we can look at it tomro and i had to train it back across the city cuz theyre shuttle wasnt available. i better not have to replace my whole instrument cluster now cuz ill be freakin pissed. and the headunit takes about 2 weeks to get in and its 325 aprox yes ur right
