Question Current OEM Oil Filter Part Numbers - ?

Hey Guys - Just got some oil filters from Infiniti of Denver (just bought this G35x, this is my first oil change), but, the filter seems much smaller then the one I took off. Did the car just have the "large" filter on before? Are these the right part numbers?

Correct Part Numbers?

15208 31U00 - Large?
15208 65F01 - Small?

I know for my G20's SR20, Nissan had changed the part numbers recently. Did they do the same for the VQ35?

Anyways, I have changed the oil and put on the new, smaller 15208 65F01, but, checking with you guys to make sure I'm not using the wrong filter (couldn't find this P/N in any searchs for recent oil filter P/Ns). Thanks all!

Link button isn't working but, if you paste this URL, these are my filters:

Research would indicate that the 15208 31U00 is the larger filter, but that 15208 65F01, 15208 65F00 and 15208 65F0C can all be used (along with the 15208 31U00) on the VQ35DE with no problems.

I did find that most recommend the 15208 31U00 because it is built better (allegedly), but, nothing found from any concrete Nissan websites.

No posts here? Anyone have anything concrete, other then other posts from other forums like I've found?

PS: No lie, Infinit of Denver charged me $11.50 for my filter. My favorite supply site, InfinitPartsUSA.com is selling these bad boys for $5.31. It looks like the in-cabin filter is going for $27.50.

Anyways, anyone get anything concrete about oil filter numbers, hit this thread.

Nick, if they say "Made in China" on them, no matter the part number, take them back and buy a Wix, NAPA Gold, or Amsoil filter.

They can't even make baby formula in China without poisioning people.
You think they can make a good oil filter?

J/K

They probably make an OK filter but you never know. China is where the OEMs go to save $$, the quality will vary.

LOL good point.

I've just always gone OEM with my other Nissans... never had any problems yet but... still want to use the best. Especially when I only change every 6k on synth... I'll have to check out Amsoil, I've always heard good things...

^^ Now you're on the right track. The MIC ones are just poor quality. They probably work okay, just not what I'd use.
