Front License Plate Bracket
Front License Plate Bracket
I just moved to California and they require a license plate to be mounted on the front as well as the back. I don't want to drill holes in my front bumper; what kind of bracket do I need and where would I get it? Also, how much to they generally cost?

i was also curious on another way of having a front license plate without having to drill holes? I've seen some in peoples vent things in the front bumper, was wondering if there was DIY somewhere on that or is it an actual bracket?
I mounted mine off to the side on my sport bumper. Got Two really long bolts from Lowe's and really big washers to keep the bolts from going through the mesh. Then I went to Autozone and bought a universal mounting plate. I put the plate on the bolts and then license plate on top of that. Think it cost me less then 10 dollars on materials....

I know that Cali is typically stricter on their laws, but we have the same law in Texas and I don't think it's enforced very strongly. I refuse to put holes in my bumper and didn't do it to my last car. I haven't had any problems. But if you get pulled over for speeding and are a d*ck to the officer, it could come into play. I think it's a stupid law, for sure.
