How to pack an exhaust system for shipping?

Does one have to find several large boxes or is it generally sufficient to wrap the scratchable bits in securely-taped cardboard and the other parts in bubble wrap or some such?

Anyone got pics of a properly-packed system ready for shipping?

I used to work for a really big freight forwarder company and we used to received all sort of parts from automotive manufacturer. Usually exhaust parts came totally exposed not even wrapping the tips. Still, I would suggest to at least shrink wrap cromed or polished parts with bubble wrap. Good luck.

If you want to box them up, find a discarded +40" LCD/plasma screen tv box...that should fit the Y-pipe and muffler. Use bubble wrap to keep them from scratching eachother. get a slimmer and longer box for the midpipe - see if a local body shop has an old side skirt box sitting around.

Good stuff, thanks C! Yeah, I'm wishing I hadn't cut up the box for my 42" LCD. Guess now I'll have to buy a 50+ plasma for the basement!!
