fords

Sorry to say it, but all Fords blow cold air for the most part...Never been in a Ford that did not. Especially in AZ I rate A/C all the time.

1. Ford products/lincolns (people ask me to turn the a/c down!) never been unhappy in a ford!

Cars that suck in AZ:

Toyotas, Hondas, GM products, BMW.....especially in 115 degree heat. It is hard to wear a dress shirt in the BMW and feel sticky from the heat....a/c sucks.....

2007 Infiniti G35 Sedan will freeze you out and it has black leather!

Uh yeah....yours! not mine. Hopefully it's just a recharge. I may just go to Meineke and get a free AC check done.

hey guys I have the same problem with my 04 coupe also. I noticed that when the temperature is below 90 degrees(which in TX is rare) it cools fine. At night the problem is non existent also. Now during the day its a different story with it being around 100 degrees. I noticed that it only cools when the car is running and when I get to a red light, it will still be blowing cold until it turns green and i take off it blows as if I turned the heater on for a couple blocks then its back to cooling. Or if turn the car on, turn the ac on but dont move the car at all, it will blow hot air. Unless the car was already running then I come to a stop and leave the car idling, after about 10 min the temperature gradually starts rising till its just hot air. I got it recharge and there was not change at all ($50 down the drain ). I noticed that only one of the fans turns on when I turn the ac on and the other turn off and on randomly. I took it to another shop and the old man got a water hose and started spraying the radiator and the ac started blowing cold. So, he aid it was just the fans not working properly. I dont know if I should trust him though because he wanted to charge me $250 to "fix" it when Ive seen both fans online new for $120

its normal... you can try and buy a a/c recharger from kragens or autozone see if that works.

Well. I never fixed this problem and we've been getting 90+ degree weather this week. it's just not cool. I recharged it last year and that didnt make a difference. I'm out of ideas at this point and I'm broke.

Well my ac belt is in bad shape and missing about 15% on one side but it appears to be still tight in spite of the cracks in the belt. Could this be the problem? I figured it would either work well or not work at all.

not likely but u should change them anyways only a $40 fix (dont be cheap on the belts) next run the car and turn on your heat or A/C to max and see if your fans turn to high mode when it gets warmed up. If they dont replace both fans.

Belt Care

With regards to your AC belt missing 15% on one side yet still being tight... your belt can still be tight when the car is off but with the grooves worn down on the belt when the vehicle is on and the belt is under load it slips on the pulley which can cause the following:

a) total belt failure
b) the belt to slip which doesnt allow the ac to generate enough power

Any reputable shop that would have been willing to take your money for a recharge should have checked your belts and tested your AC system prior to completing any work, unless you specifically told them not to. Take it back to the same place and demand that they perform a complementary AC check on your vehicle. In Canada any shop that does halfass work like they did that leads to a related mechanical failure is legally liable for any consequant repairs. Hope this helps, and it is as simple as replacing your belt. AC systems are very intricate in design and their are a number of possible fixes for this problem, unfortunately each can be more expensive than the last.

Frank @ Hill's Garage recharged it but the belt was in decent condition then. I just replaced the belt last week and the air is still not cold. It's cool but in 100+ degree weather it's not cool enough. It's not leaking because it still has the same amount of pressure as it did last year.

i would take it for a recharge, or check for leaks.
