Smile Battery Drains Quickly

I have a 2008 G-35 Sedan with what I belive is a problem. When I put my car on auxillary power to listen to the radio for only a few minutes, my car won't start. During the latest battery drain, I had the radio, A/C fan, and the headlights on. The battery went dead (not completely dead but not enough juice to start car) in about 10-15 minutes

I called the dealer and they said this is normal. I wanted to see if any of you are experiencing the same problem. Vould you tell me if your car darins fast too?

Thanks for your input

Smile Car has Good Battery

Thanks for you for taking the time to try and help. I drive the car everyday so It hasn't been sitting around. As far as the battery, I took it to a couple of places and had it tested. All the places said thr battery was OK. I guess my main concdern is this "normal like the dealer said". Thanks again for your input.

1 If you were in "aux" with all that stuff on lights, a/c and radio that could cause the battery to drain quick since it's not being charged like it would be when the car is on, the main purpose of the battery is to start the car than the alternator takes over from there charging the battery, powering the car and so on. basically if the cars not running (engine on) your draining battery power and that can only last so long. 2 when they checked the battery did they just check the voltage? did they check the impedance is will i think it's called load testing?

hope this helps i am by no means an expert just trying to help, hopefully it's first scenario.

Thank again for your input. This last time I drined the battery, I had many things on. However, the last time it happened, I only had the radio on while I was drying my car at a car wash. Anyway, I'll go back to autozone and see what they check when doing their battery analysis. Thanks again for your help.

Do you have anything plugged into your power sockets? That will aslo help to drain the battery faster.

Sounds like your battery has good cranking power (cca) but the reserve capacity is low. Once a battery's reserve capacity is low, the battery usually needs to be replaced. Since your car is an 08, its surprising that your battery is doing this, but you might have to get a new battery.
I don't think this is normal like the dealership said. I have run my stereo system with my sub for 20+min and have never had a problem starting the car.

Thanks for your input. I didn't have anything plugged in the auxillary outlet that could have drained the battery. I believe the battery may be going bad. Unless I get a response that identifies another problem, I'll probably go ahead and buy a new battery.

Thanks again for the input.
