I've been hearing rattle with my car ever since I bought it from Carmax in May. It sounds like it is coming from around the heads of course, and one of my friends said it sounds like valve chatter.

I made some audio recordings with my phone to see if someone could help me narrow it down before I go to a mechanic. My car is a 2006 coupe, and I'm pretty sure it's still under warranty. That could be a hassle however because I do have a few mods already done to it, along with what was installed when I bought the car.

Check your oil. Sometimes when it's low the engine will make a little more noise. If it is low monitor it very carefully or take it to Infiniti. The rev-up engines are known for oil consumption.
