shaky steering wheel
shaky steering wheel
Hey everyone....did a search for the entitled thread I just posted, but didn't get the answer I'm looking for
I've recently put 20's on my 06 g35 sedan...new rims/tires, mounting, balancing, the whole 9 yards... my problem is not consistent, more of a problem that occurs only a few times when driving each day
the steering wheel gets very shaky, usually at the cruising speed of 50-60 mph, if I slow up it will sometimes keep shaking...could this just be the issue with rolling 20's?
similar problem/solutions?

More than likely one or both of your front tires are not balanced correctly. I had the same thing happen when I got my 20" rims and tires mounted and (supposedly) balanced by NTB. They didnt' balance them properly, I had to take them to Discount Tire, they recommended a 'dynamic balance' as opposed to a standard 'static balance' (meaning instead of one row of sticky weights, they put 2 rows of sticky weights since the rims are wider than OEM.)
I would have them double checked for incorrect balance again.
If this is not the case, did you purchase hub centric rings? My rims were very hard to put on the first time after I installed hub centric rings, it took a couple of times tightening down everything. Make sure your rims are tightened down evenly and flush to your rotor.
