'04 G35 Coupe conks out and shuts off as soon as i start it...

Here we go... I'm starting to get mad at G which used to be my best friend...
I have 85,xxxx miles on it...
When I start the car, it runs for about 5-10 seconds and then coughs and conks out... I smell fuel a little bit after it conks out...
Battery is good, and oil has been changed regularly every 3000-5000 miles... Please help!

Could be a number of things. Any warning lights appearing on the dash?

Check the MAF sensor. Is it fouled/dirty?
Has the air filter been changed recently?
Has the throttle body been cleaned/serviced?
Have the fuel injectors been cleaned/serviced?
Are all the vacuum hoses attached and are any of them split/cut? Check the brake booster vacuum hose especially.
Try the gas pedal idle reset procedure and see if that helps.

i fixed it... it was the MAF sensor that was dirty( I guess.) I pulled off the intake hose and the air box and the Z-tube... pulled the sensor out of the Z-tube and sprayed it with MAF Sensor Cleaner. Then I sprayed in the throttle body with TB Cleaner... wiped it best I could with a towel, and the I put everything back together... (Also got a new air filter and put that in there.)

Car started and ran but the Service Engine Soon light was on... So I disconnected the battery for two hours, reconnected it, and the light was off...

That was all two weeks ago, and it's been fine ever since... Thanks for the help...

Now I'm trying to figure out how to fix this a/c... this car is pulling me down, man
