My g35 was doing this and it turns out that I had carbon build-up restricting the throttlebody. Basically the throttlebody is closed at idle and any small amount of buildup totally screws up the idle. It resolves itself as your ECU learns the correct air intake. You car should not shut down after a ecu reset, ever.

So try cleaning your throttlebody. Do not, EVER EVER EVER!!!!! touch your throttlebody while its plugged in. I can guarantee you'll be buying a new one. Disconnect the battery and the connector at the throttlebody before touching it. Try to avoid moving the butterfly at all.
I've cleaned my throttlebody numerous times without unplugging it and have had zero problems.

It can also be a faulty MAF sensor which is between the Airbox and the intake tube.

Read that.

Apparently IF you disconnect the wires, which you SHOULD NOT. Then DO NOT touch the butterfly valve. But its fine to touch as long as you don't disconnect the battery or TB connector. See post #4.
Good to know. I never take the TB assembly apart. I just clean it with TB spray and a rag.

I disconnected the harness to the TB and moved the butterfly. No problems. I didn't have to relearn anything. I tried to do the relearn, but the instructions are so ****ing vague I gave up.
