Car wont start for several minutes Please Help

This is the second time this has happened both times when i come out of the store and unlock my car. I come out of target unlock my car wit the remote and put my key and the ignition and no power. No dome lights, no radio, i cant even open the trunk. No clicking or anything, i check under the hood to see if the battery is connected, and it is. The funny thing was a car two spaces over having the same problem, they're car would start either. the buttons on my alarm weren't working either. About 5 minutes later at the same time both our cars start.
Flash forward to today I come out from Ralph, unlock my car turn my ignition and its dead, I take out the key and i hear this clicking, and on the gauges the gas and temp keep jumping...it stops when i put the key in but the engine wont start, I leave the key in the ignition. The clicking sounds to be coming from the fuse box. several minutes later power just randomly come back and radio, dome light and everything powers up and i can drive away. sorry about the long story, anybody know about this? Help would be greatly appreciated

Its weird it appears like my car is dead, but starts 5 minutes later, I'm wondering if it is a theft deterrent or something

I would check your battery connections. Make sure the posts are clean and cables are tight. If theres been alot of rain and humity near you than poor battery connections will contribute to the symptoms.

Another possibility is the starter is going. OEM starters are very durable not sure of the age or mileage on car but may want to test it.
