Placebo effect. My car runs better when it's clean, too.

i know this is kinda off topic, but with changing fluids do you guys recommend doing drain and fill or full flush? ex. coolant, differential, transmission.

Diff and manually tranny, just drain and fill. I flush the coolant multiple times. Even after the third fill with straight water it will still come out with a green tint from the old coolant.

Super delayed response, was outta town. So apparently my car runs better with the synthetic oil. However, the shifting was a temporary illusion haha. This thread has officially been changed to: How in the hell can I fix my shifter from catching?! It seems that when I first start my car, the shifter becomes very stiff and "catchy". But as it runs longer, it seems to loosen up a bit? Is there anyway to fix this madness? BTW, 2006 6MT coupe. I just realized I posted this thread in the sedan section...don't hate me
