light metal scrape sound. Help please!
Hey,
it's happened twice... I heard it once when i went under a tunnel on a local street and once after leaving my house on my street.
As I drive, randomly i'll hear this sound like as if someone is holding a metal stick or metal bracket and scraping on the floor as i drive. It sounds like it's coming from the passenger side but not sure if it's front or rear.
Has anyone ever experienced this before? I get paranoid about my car making noises because i don't want anything to break down on me and then i'm stranded or have to end up towing my car with the hassle.
Please help me. Thanks everyone.

Hey, yeah i looked under my car and none of that plastic is hanging. Sounded like metal... like a screw driver dragging on the floor.
im not 100% but it might be your wheel bearing. if the sound gets worse, then you may need to replace your hub. drive around with your windows down, take a couple of turns, if the sound worsens while turning, then it may be your wheel bearing. if its your right front wheel bearing, the sound will worsen when you take a left turn and vice versa with a right turn. hope this helps.

Thanks guys for the help. I'm gonna wait a little bit till i hear it more often. As of right now, it only happened twice and very randomly. Can't record it if i don't know when it'll happen... and it only happens for like a few seconds. I'm hoping its my brakes and not my wheel bearings. I'm also going to check my brake pads to see the life on them. Thanks everyone! Really appreciate it.
If I had to guess I'd say you need new brake pads. There's a metal clip that serves as a wear indicator on the pad, and as the pad wears down, the clip will scratch against the rotor and make some noise to let you know. This happens whenever the wheels are moving, it doesnt matter if you're braking or not.
