2004 G Coupe Radio/Speaker/BCM issues

So glad y'all are here!
The problem started with the radio and speakers. Rear speakers making god-awful noises so I disconnected them. Then the radio started coming and going randomly. Then radio was off all the time. I could live with that BUT car battery started going dead. Replaced battery hoping newer one would help situation- it did not, there was a constant 7.4 amp draw. So, I read posts here for days about the radio problems and need for a new Audio Finisher Board and Metra kits. Having this knowledge, I took the car to an auto electric shop.

The tech traced the problem to the Body Control Module (BCM). He found a new one but Infiniti had to replace it then reprogram it. UGH. This was an expensive fix ($900). Drove the car home, the radio worked. YEA. Next day, no radio. Tech said BCM needed to be reprogrammed so back to Infiniti. Nope. They say the radio needs to be replaced ($700). UGH UGH. So, my question to you is: Do I need now to buy the Metra kit, antenna adapter, radio and wireharness and have them installed? Did the new BCM address the radio problem at all or am I starting from scratch? How difficult is this to do? Do I need to go back to the auto electric place or can someone with a little mechanical knowledge do it?

Also, any suggestions on where to buy all of these parts? I've looked a little but have no idea when there are options! Crud! I HATE not having anyone who can help me wade thru this quagmire! Thanks for any/all advice.
