G35 Coupe problem, Please help!

Hey,
my car is a G coupe year model 2007, and bone stock.
There are no after market parts installed whatsoever.

Just yesterday, i filled up full tank and today i noticed that the Gas meter is pointing a few centimeters BELOW E. I never even knew that the gas meter could hit all the way down there..... the run still runs great, but for some reason, my gas meter is like out of calibration or something.

Any suggestions as to what it could possibly be ? Im going to head to the dealership tomorrow to check it out, but i just want to know the possibilities before i encounter it tomorrow.

Thanks!

Welcome to DRIVER....=oD

That is strange and I've never heard of anyone having this exact issue, would you mind letting us know the outcome of your visit to the dealership?

Actually, the gas meter some how fixed itself.
The morning i was going to head to the dealership, the meter was back to normal and is now pointing at F (full).

Extremely strange defect .... never encountered this is my life.
It most likely was because of the fact that it was out of calibration. This will forever remain a mystery. Haha.

Possible light on the subject...

When the sender is grounded the gauge will show full.....~ 3 ohms ( coupe & sedan )
As the float drops resistance increases and empty ~ 43 ohms on the coupe / 80 on the sedan...

SO if somehow your sender unit gets a piece of something between the wiper & the resistive element
OR
The ground on the sender is marginal ( bad , corroded connection ) and say the net resistance the gauge " see's " is 100 + ohms it will nose dive to the below empty zone....

( DI-17 in the FSM )
