Exclamation window issue, (not the same as the rest lol)

so i am having an issue that is driving me crazy on my 04 coupe. when i open the passenger side door the window is supposed to drop about 1/4 inch, then go back up when you close the door. well, it is dropping an inch or so, and wont go back up when you close the door. everything else works as it should, up, down, auto up and down. i have also noticed that if i open the passenger door, then cut the key on and use the passenger side window switch to roll the window up, it will drop that 1/4 in and go back up when you close the door. i have done the regulator reset as well as the initialization procedure that i found in my service information. it started working right again for about 5 mins and went back to going down an inch and not going back up. i would appreciate the help. thanks

when you press the trigger button on the side, does it show on the display that the door is closed? i have this same problem on the driver side.... but it's from the window motor having too much grease inside and doesn't respond well to the blip roll up signal.

Has anyone confirmed a fix? I just took my g outta storage and it started doing this window thing but it never did it before so I'm not sure what changed. I know the battery never died over winter because I started it and moved it around regularly.

Currently searching through window issue threads - I'm having this issue. I see the OP from 2011 noted the reset procedure only fixed the issue for a short time so I'm not going to pull the door panel off yet. Can anyone with this exact same issue chime in?

The window motor brushes are too worn out so it doesn't respond to the sudden signal to drop window. I've rebuilt my window motor and it works perfect again. Brushes cost $10 on amazon. Cleaning the brushes is a total waste of time, the factory made these motors with brushes that are way too short that they have a short life, very short life.

Thanks, right now I'm unable to reproduce the issue but I'll assume my motor is starting to go out. I replaced both front motors with the rebuilt cardone units on our Maxima at around 90k.
