I have read on the forum about the rear axel clicking noise that Infiniti issued a recall for. As I understand it, this was only for 03-05 models. I have an 06 coupe that has developed a squeaking (not clicking) noise. At first I thought it was the brakes, but the noise does not occur under breaking. I hear an intermittent squeak at slow speeds (under 10mph) and the noise gets faster as I speed up (makes me thing axel). I cannot hear it at all at speeds above 40-45 mph (frequency could be outside the range of human audibility).

Any ideas what could be causing this? Could it be related to the recall on the older models? If so, would Infiniti fix this free of charge as part of the recall since my car is no longer under warranty?
