Hey guys, I'm currently doing a full interior on a 2004 model G35, and upon taking the dash out, the key became stuck in the ignition.. has anyone ever heard of this? The car is ABSOLUTELY in park, tried turning the wheel, brake, the whole ordeal.. even had one of my buddies over who has a G, and were scratchin our heads..

I'm wondering if possibly this is some kind of security feature that occurs when something is unplugged? The car starts fine, turns off fine, when you go to take it out, it only goes 2 clicks to the left, not allowing it to go the the "LOCK" position where you take the key out..

The same thing happened to me in my accord I ended up turning the car on putting it in neutral shuting off the engine then pulling out the key out, it never happened to my g tho so I'm not sure if it'll work on a g

 

well, on the G35 you have to push the key IN and turn in order to free it so you can take it out. also move the gear shift sometimes the lock will engage so move it to neutral like the DG stated.

 

nope no luck yet.. dealer said they dont get too many g's with ignition problems.. im startin to freak

it sounds like the key interlock cable is not releasing.

 

just taking a shot in the dark to see if anyone replies to this, but did anyone find out how to fix this? I recently also just took apart the dash to install the PA-15 and I can't take the key out of the ignition anymore.
