Hi

I have searched on here about problems with the intelligent key but I want not able to find my specific problem. So I have two intelligent keys for my g35 however none of the buttons work on it. I can not use the buttons to lock, unlock, alarm, or open the drunk on the car. However, the intelligent keys seem to work fine sometimes in order to open the door with the button on the door and starting the car. The only time it doesn't work seems to be in the morning.. I have to press the button on my door about 20 times before my car recognizes that I am out there in the freezing cold waiting for my doors to open. Once the door opens the key seems to work fine and I have no problem starting my car. I am wondering if i may just have two intelligent keys that are not working.. or is it possibly my car. Has anyone else ran into this problem and come up with a solution for the issue?

Problem: buttons on intelligent key do not work. Can not use buttons to lock/unlock, open trunk or alarm.
also, SOMETIMES I am not even able to open my car using the buttons on the door until I press the button many times.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. It is such a pain, I feel like one day my car is going to completely lock me out.

Well, excuse the obvious but maybe both fobs need new batteries? What year is your car? Does the car start reliably once you get in the car? Right after you start does the key symbol on the dash blink green for 30 seconds? THAT is our only clue that the I-key's battery needs replacing.

I am having the same problem. I bought new batteries and even bought a new fob (because I only got one when I purchased the car).

When I exit my car I press the lock button on the drivers side. I can't unlock the car or open the trunk until the lights turn off. Plus I need to be right next to the car to unlock it. I'm guessing its the BCM or a bad antenna. I don't want to pay Infiniti $100 an hour to find out what's wrong. My dealer is telling me it will probably be over 2 hours to run all the tests. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

 

Sorry for digging up a dead thread. But did you find the solution for this. I have the same exact problem.

Keyfob, doesn't lock my doors. this happens in the morning. I will have wait until the interior lights and headlights are turned off then lock it, but now I will have to wait for 10 mins or so to use the key fob to lock the doors.

 

I have two intelligent keys...one works great. The other one will drain a battery in a day. Found this out the hard way when I got stuck high and dry and had to get a friend to pick me up and take me home to get the other one because I couldn't even unlock the drivers side door with the key. WTF???

Since then I've put a new battery in the "bad" unit 4 different times and within a day it is dead as a door ****. Guess it is time to buy a new one and get raped by the dealer to program it. Oh joy.

 

Strange. I recently purchased a second key fob at the dealer andhad them program it. Now both keys work intermittently. Usually after driving and I go to lock the car using the door button. Door does not respond. Using the fob buttons does not work either, then it all of a sudden starts working again. I have also noticed this with the trunk button and sometimes when unlocking. The dealer gave me new batteries and that did not help. Sometimes, the unlock does not work either.

I am wondering if they reprogrammed to a frequency that is more likely to get interference. Taking it in for a reprogram if i have time this weekend.
