My car was overheating the other day, and I noticed the fuses for both fans were blown. I replaced the 40amp fuse for the passenger side fan twice and both times it blew within 5 mins of driving.

What could be causing this problem? Are the fans bad or is it the fan motor? And where could I find a replacement for the bcm fuse? Is that something you can only get from the dealer?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It's easy enough to replace the fans. Don't buy the OEM Nissan ones. Get the TYC 620980 off eBay. It'll cost a little over $100 shipped, and from everything I read it's supposed to be as good or better than the OEM fans.

FWIW, if you keep popping fuses, it's probably because the motors are drawing too much amperage. They normally do that when they go bad (I believe).

Well if its the motors pooping the fuse can I just replace the fan motor? Or do I need to replace the fans as well?

The motor is cheap only like $25-30, so if I could just replace the motor for now at least that would be alot better.

Is there anyway to test the fan motor? I don't think it's the fans themselves causing it, they spin easily and don't seem to be binding.

Honestly I'm unsure of that. When mine went I just replaced the whole assembly. I'm sure there's a way to ohm the motor out... just not sure what that is.
