Who works on their car at home?

So heres my deal. My car is lowered and kitted, and I do not have the resources to work on my car at home. At least I don't think so.... I wanna hear from those of you who do, how do you do it?

My story is, I used to be a mechanic at a shop for the last 8yrs. I've always had the luxury of using a lift. Now that I don't do that anymore, I still want to do all my own work, at least the small things. I don't see/feel the need to pay someone to do my maintenance when I can do it myself. My problem is, I am unable to raise my car up so that I can get under it. Even when I was using the lift at work, I had to get a few wood planks to drive over just so that I could fit the arms of the lift underneath.

I know I'm not the only one that has a kitted car that works from home. So what are some of you guys' solutions? Do you have a ramp you drive up? Do you have a specialty jack made for lowered cars? Please share any info and insight you may have with me. Much props to those of you that work from home, I know its 5x harder and more work than what I was doing at a shop.

Same here but i use a jack that is for lower cars but not too low. Whe i have to get under the car i let the car sit on jack stands. At one point in time they were sitting on the stands for 4 days.

Do you have a link for the type of jack that you have? Also, whats the minimum height of your jack stands?

I work on mine in the garage. I drive up on some 2x4's if I need to get to the central jack points otherwise I just have a low pro jack that fits right in on the sides.

Then I crawl my butt under the car when it's supported by jackstands and do what I can! A lift would be nice but I don't have the room lol

Do any of you guys have a bodykit? I used to drive on top of wood to fit the lift under my car, but with the wood alone, I would no way be able to fit myself under there. What low-profile jacks do you guys use?

I use a lopro jack & jackstands. You can get raceramps or just drive up on a piece of wood so the jack clears.

Same setup I have, and I use 2x6 also! I needed to drive on two of them(one at a time) to be able to fit the arm of the lift under my car.

i use blocks that are 2 inches high and drive up them. if your sideskirts are too low to fit a jack, you can always jack up the rear first and place it on jack stands or get another jack, jack up the rear and then fit your jack under the side. you can safely jack up the rear on the rear differential pumpkin.

I use these for oil changes because it was cheaper than buying raceramps and it gets it up a bit higher as well. For jacking it up I usually just drive onto the boards alone first.
