Must Read: Before you even THINK about modifying your G

A little back story:

The year is 2005. My first car was a 1984 Nissan Maxima, aka "Teh Hawtness". At the time I didn't care how or why a car worked, all I cared about was that it got me from home to school, and to random drinking establishments on the weekends (yes I drank underage. No I do not condone such actions, but let's be realistic it will happen). Within a few weeks I am on the side of the road wondering why my temperature gauge needle is completely at the "what the **** are you doing still driving" level, and start panicking with the thought process of "oh ****, this is not only going to cost a lot of money, but I have just lost my only layer of freedom in my life". I get my radiator hose fixed, and before long the power steering goes out completely, which necessitates a replacement procedure of the entire power steering bracket (thank you Dad, because at the time I was entirely incapable of performing such necessary repairs). These occurrences along with many others sparked my interest in the way that cars operate and perform. Since then I have owned a 1993 240SX fastback, and very recently a 2003 G35 coupe.

The punchline of this lengthy story is this, KNOW WHAT IT IS YOU ARE OPERATING BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING TO IT. It will benefit you GREATLY if you comprehend the mechanics behind your vehicle before you attempt to improve them, which veteran tuners will agree, makes a lot of sense.

First and foremost read these articles in their entirety and take to heart the physics of the descriptions.

How an engine works : http://auto.howstuffworks.com/engine1.htm
What is the difference between a turbocharger and a supercharger : http://auto.howstuffworks.com/question122.htm/printable

If you take the time to understand those articles, %95 of your questions about ANYTHING on this website will be self explanatory, and you will be better off by knowing what exactly goes on between the turn of the key and that funky breeze that comes out of the circle(s) behind your car.

I hope this is beneficial to some.

And just because I came from Japan and I saw this beside the text box, here's Domo.

Best advise I've heard lately

The more you read the more you know. You do not have to be mechanically incline to do the work, just be aware of the repercussions of your modifications. I have watched both of those videos on the {SC'er and Turbo} and learned a great deal on the operation of, and the pros and cons of both applications. Isn't Youtube wonderful? I lowered my machine after watching a Youtube video about 20 times, and have other bolt ons.
