Ruh Row! Sis put wrong key in door
So I sold my 2004 G35 sedan to my sis recently... The keyfobs are currently broke/ MIA.
She has been using the key to lock/ unlock the door. She just called me and said she made a goof, wasn't paying attention and accidently tried using another car's key (2006 Mitsubish Endeavor) to open the door. When she realized it was the wrong key, she pulled it out and popped in the correct one. Problem was, the corrected Infiniti key would not turn the lock in the driver's door anymore. Seeing how that's the ONLY mechanical lock on the entire car, that poses some obvious problems.
I told her to run to Walmart and pick up some graphite lube and use it to try and lube up the cam on the lock. I hoped this could eliminate the possibility of the lock just being old and seized up or maybe one of the pins was temporarily stuck up. She said it made no difference.
Unfortunately, I am about 10 hours away from her so I'm not able to verify anything myself.
You guys have any ideas? If not, AAA is coming to break into the car tomorrow.
Weird problem, huh....
