Key FOB battery replacement

I own a 06 G35 and I'm pretty sure the battery is down on the fob. I have read on here that all you have to do is stick a knife in between the 2 halves and it will pop open. Ummmm I can see me screwing that up pretty quickly.

Does anyone have any pictures of how to pull this off w/o screwing up or scratching the key fob?

Thanks.

Here's a pic of the fob so someone can say hey stick a knife in that whole and you won't screw up your fob - hehe.

Just pry it open from the back, it easily comes apart.

Thanks for the reply. I must be too squeamish to really "pry" on it. I was just hoping there was some trick I was missing. Ha.

idk about urs but for the 03 style fobs the manual (the one that comes with the car) tells u how to open it which was with a coin in between the opens. looks at ur manual maybe it tell you how to open it there.

Thanks again for the replies. I did finally get it by simply sticking fingernails (mine - ha) in between the grooves and just prying it open. It does indeed pry open but not quite as easily or as simply as I would have thought. The battery was a CR2025 for anyone else with an 06 G35.
