2004 G35x front growling/grinding noise

hey guys,
this noise has been driving me crazy. started recently. At random I would hear this growling/grinding noise from the front when idling. It gets worse when I put a little pressure on the steering wheel.

but completely goes away once the car starts moving

At first I thought it was the fuel damper as the noise sounded like it came from the passenger side and there was a TSB for it. I just replaced the fuel damper but the noise is still there somtimes... any ideas?

I read from another forum that its normal to hear this noise. I just bought an 06 g35x. Here's what happens to me. I start my car, reverse, then put into Drive. I dont step on the gas, I coast and when i get to about 10 mph I hear a spring or a noise like a clunk. It upset me at first but from what I've read about this noise it seems to be normal. Part of the ABS. (Anti Lock Break System). Might make less sound when you get new breaks but in all honesty i could care less, this car is awsome.

It my be the power steering. My odyssey started to sound similar to what you described. You don't hear it when the car is in motion because the powersteering motor work less to turn the wheel. Check your power steering fluid. If fluid is fine, then it could be the motor going bad.

thanx for the input guys. I know about the ABS self check noise. it is a little annoying, but it's not loud like this.

I'm gonna have the PSF flushed next week to see if that fixes the problem. will update then.
