So... during some play in the G.. power steering completely disappeared.. tried everything and beyond to try and bleed it... sucked it up and bought another pump... put it in and it kept whining like crazy- had to change out the copper washers which helped a little, but the whining continued.. decided since i had free replacement.. swap it again.. drove it all over, then took it for one quick run and next thing you know... no PS at all again...

Im wondering if anyone else has had this? What makes up the rack in my G? im curious if theres maybe a valve/solenoid etc. that could be screwed up....

No leaks and has fluid.. rev up the engine and the PS pump whines like crazy and "slight" PS comes back.. once again tried bleeding, to nothing happening...

three pumps done... could change it again, but thats a decent hint that its probably something else....


EDIT: should probably add... 2005 G35 Coupe 6MT....

 

The only time that pump should make noise is the very first time you start the car after bleeding the system (and the noise should last just a split second). If you still hear noise then it most likely was not bled properly.
