tranny grinding upon engine braking 6MT help!
hey guys i sold my old 05 6mt sedan to my friend, and last night he called and said he hit a really large dip in the road and heard a "bang" and now he hears grinding. so i had him bring it over and i drove it and found the following:
upon hard decel there is a grinding sound from directly below the shifter.
it happens in 1st-3rd. the noise is much worse when coasting at 40mph you ease the clutch out in 2nd gear, as the clutch engages it make a much louder version of the previous sound.
any ideas on what this could be?? i looked under the car, no visible damage or leaks im aware of. just trying to help a buddy out! thanks guys!
