P Shift Error and crazy sound

Ever since last week every day now when i get out of the car and lock it a crazy dog wistle type of sound goes off. it is constant. And behind the steering wheel it says "P Shift". I figured out it has something to do with my shift handle. It is not going in full park. I had to start the car and push it up (into park) really hard and then the sound and the message went away. Anyone know how much it would cost to fix this? I'm guessing its a big problem

The sound is the external alarm warning you that it's not in Park. You don't want it to roll down the hill! There are a bunch of possible causes, everything from a linkage problem to a cable mount to an electrical switch to even motor mounts (??). Important to fix but probably not a major thing. Best bet to figure it out would probably be the dealer..

They way to fix the car is to disconnect the yellow fuse that goes to your obd 2 sensor. I did this and the problem is solved.
