Help me figure out my intermittent AC Issue. Will work at idle.

Well took my car into an AC shop to find out why it was not working and had them run a complete pressure test of the system. They said that the system is fully charged. With this being said I discovered tonight that when started my AC will kick on and stay engaged until I hit the throttle. At this point the AC will kick out and will not restart until I restart the car. Can anyone help me out on this? I am stumped at this point.

Thank you,

AC controller is my thought. Is yours aftermarket or stock? If that doesn't make sense, have you replaced your factory radio?

Well I know the previous owner had the Head Unit replaced through warranty as per usual but there is the the OEM head unit in there at the moment. So this is a possibility. Do you know of a way to test if this is the cause?

Get a second controller? Let me do some research real quick and see if I can get you a better answer. I'm sure some of the other guys might have a thought.

•When the throttle position sensor indicates a wide open throttle (WOT) — in other words, when the gas pedal is floored — the logic module sends a signal to the A/C cutout relay to disengage the air conditioning (A/C) compressor clutch, so more of the engine’s power can be used for acceleration.
•The A/C cutout relay keeps the clutch disengaged for 10 seconds after the engine has started, partly to avoid stalling, and partly so the logic module can accurately set the target idle using the AIS motor.

This is my guess ultimately. My thought is that the relays that kill the A/C during exceleration (which allows the engine to use as much available power as possible) are faulty and failing to tell the A/C that it's ok to resume cooling. I have no idea where these are located in our car yet but start checking this forum and google. I'll see what I can find too.

Well I believe it is located in the IPDM box behind the battery but I am having issues finding this relay now due to a lack of a schematic. Any one have one?

Found One! I believe it is located in the center of the Box, Refered to as the Throttle Control Motor Relay? Could this be it?

Ok I believe I have it now...Refereed to as " E8 " it controls The A/C Relay and also the Compressor.

Thanks,

Mechanics Schematic Engine

Got an email address? I have the schematics for every part of a G35 Sedan. It may or may not help. Not sure which version you have.
