wiring auto/homelink rear-view mirror.
My sedan's manual mirror was loose, and I just picked up an OEM automatic mirror from a wrecked 05 sedan. Of course my car doesn't have the correct harness for a powered rearview mirror, but...
I had already sourced a constant 12v + lead from the maplight circuit, and I use it to power my radar detector.
Which wire from the mirror is the one to use for the automatic dimmer? Which one is the ground?
I don't care about the homelink features, just the dimmer.
Thanks in advance.

Here you go... Pin 8 on the mirror's plug should be ground (black), pin-5 should be constant voltage (black/red), and pin-6 is voltage when running (black/pink). If you don't want the garage door opener you can probably ignore pin-5 and just power pin-6 and ground.

Great, thanks!
Busy weekend coming up for the car: double din deck, new wheels and tires, and now the mirror upgrade.
I really need to buy that shop manual.....

Thats from the factory service manual, which can be found here: https://g35driver.com/forums/faq-diy...e-manuals.html
