AC blowing much colder air on passenger vents

I noticed something today on my 03.5 sedan that I think has been going on for awhile now. Seemed the AC has been not as cold as it used to be, thought it might be time for more freon. Today I happened to put my hand over the vents on the passenger side however, and the air was ice cold coming out. The AC works on the driver side vents, it just isn't nearly as cold.

The fan is working fine, if I drop the temp the fan runs faster but the air temp is about the same. Sometimes the AC is cooler on the driver side but never as cold as the passenger side. I played around with the dual climate but it did not seem to have any affect.

Not long ago I installed a new stereo with the Metra kit from Crutchfield, so of course that is a potential problem area with the new AC controller. However I think it was like this before that install, so for now let's assume that is NOT the cause of the issue.

Any ideas? Thanks.
