Gas fill up weirdness

So I was at the gas station filling up my tank which was almost empty. As I get to about 9 gallons filled the pump handle starts clicking off, inferring the tank is full, when it's not. As I continued to pull up on the handle to keep filling it would just relieve tension and pull all the way up again, to infer the tank is full. Once I got to around 10 gallons filled I gave up and left with only that much. My gas gauge is correct, indicating just over a half tank filled. Anyone had this happen before ?

New station? Some have weird nozzles.

Not so much? Try the TSB.

My 06 coupe has done that four times since I have owned it. It hasn't happened in a long time though. I don't know what it is.

No, when this annoyance happens it is usually around half a tank so no overflow. When it does happen, I don't try to add more gas. I do not reset the odometer so that it reminds me I didn't fill up.

Don't worry guys it's a super common problem. Most of us will experience it sometime during extended ownership. I have it too. There are multiple sources about this problem on this forum and others. Generally there's a few things that cause this problem: faulty filler neck, faulty flapper valve (i don't know if that's the real name but its similar to that i believe.) bad sensors, and a few other less common issues. Most of our cars are covered to some degree under warranty. THB right? TSB? Either way consult with your local Infiniti or Nissan dealer and they may replace it free of charge and let you drive around in M45 like my dealer lets their customers.
