My 06 coupe (auto) has started making loud clicking noises when I drive. It started happening the same day I installed ART Pipes in my garage with my buddies. Pipes sound great and everything but while test driving, my car started clicking like mad. It only happened during deceleration. I could roll down a hill in neutral and it wouldn't click until I started slowing down. I could press on the gas during that downhill roll and still no clicking so I can't imagine it being exhaust related. Saw the TSB about the rear axle clicking; Saw most people just had to take them off, clean and re-grease them, and then reassemble to magically fix it. Today, I did that, and it did nothing. In fact, today while test driving, the clicking occurred even while accelerating. Prior to that, I had my rear in the air (jack stands) and rev'd to see if it would click; IT DID NOT. This baffles me
I suppose it could be the passenger side but it genuinely sounds like it's coming from the driver side rear. Also, if it were the infamous axle click TSB, I think it would click even while lifted off the ground and also not excessively during deceleration.
I will take it to the dealership as a last resort only. I'm poor. Suggestions PLEASE!
i would have to assume it has something to do with the ART pipes you put on since it started after the install. it sounds like the clicking/tapping is speed dependent. i would have to assume it is the art pipes contacting something. check the art pipes and make sure you have good clearance around then and also check all the bolts and make sure they are tight. also check the O2 sensor. i have heard about the o2 sensor contacting the body or a heat shield and making a noise like that.
I have a clicking noise too but not as bad as that but it happens during braking for me. Mechanic told me it is from my brakes since they are worn and need changing. Not sure if that's your issue as well. I've seen different videos where the clicking issue was from a incorrectly installed brake pad, or loose caliper
I don't think thats the axle clicking. Sounds more like a heat shield or something loose & rattling around at certain rpms that would cause more vibrations.

I thought so too but I removed the heat shield yesterday morning as well as the built-in threaded stud that would hit the resonator. Also, it that were the case, it would click when I rev'd even in neutral. I have to be moving for it to click (even moving in neutral makes it click)
I may have done the axle cleaning wrong but the symptoms do not suggest it's the axle since the wheels can spin in the air without click.

With that said, its not axle click. Probably suspension.
After a while crawling around my cold hard garage floor, I did find some things. For one, my Tanabe Sustec sway bar was loose. I prayed that somehow it was my solution. So I got to tightening!
However, after test driving with the tightened sway bar, the clicking continued to happen. Quite frustrated, I lifted the car again, and crawled around on my cold hard garage floor (and a bit moist). I saw nothing else wrong. I started banging my exhaust on the XY Pipe (ARK Exhaust) and eventually I heard a clank! I looked as much as I could but I couldn't find it yet. So I had to put the car down and lift the rear. The rest could be found here:
