wet footwell - possible leak sources (2004 G35 Sedan)
I've had my car for about two years, and it's always had a very mild dampness problem. Like, the windows get an unusual amount of condensation on them overnight - particularly in cold weather. If it gets bothersome I just throw one of those dehumidifier packs on the back seat and it's good for a while. it never gets to the point it's damp or musty inside.
But we've had a crazy amount of rain lately, and I just noticed that the driver-side footwell is SOAKED. So I guess I've found the source of the water.
Are there any particular areas I should be searching? Any spots on or around the firewall that are vulnerable to leaking? Anyone have issues with leaking seals around the windshield?
Note: I had the door panels off this summer for a speaker-swap and didn't see any signs of leaking from any of the door or side-window areas.
Just trying to find out if this is a common issue before I start ripping the dashboard apart, pulling-up carpeting, etc.
