Question Headlights problems

I have 3 problems on my g35 coupe 2005 with headlights right now and its confusing.

1. When im on auto mod during the day, sometimes both works and sometime only the driver one work (this one work all the time)

2.Even when i put everything at off (fog too) the driver one stay on (day light)..

3. Since i bought that car with no hid bulb,i installed 2 new hid bulbs today but only the passanger one work... but not everytime sometime i have to turn my light on and off 2 or 3 times before it work..The hid bulb on the driver side isnt working at all

4.Sometime my fog light goes on highbeam when its on lowbeam..

I first tho my hid problem might be the ballast but every single light in the front is having a probleme except for the day light on driver side...

Just trying to find the real problem

Did you install just the bulbs or ballast and bulbs? Did you have to splice any of the wires to connect the HIDs? Could be a relay or or capacitor issue?

I would start there to see if you have any wiring issues.

The service manuals for you car are here (thanks once again to NICO club):
http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/G35/Coupe/2005/
"lt.pdf" is for lighting.

Is your car Canadian and have daytime running lights? That complicates the issue a bit.

Originally only your car's low-beams were HID. High-beams and fogs are a 2-filiment halogen. DRL (if you have it) runs the high-beam filament of those bulbs in series so they run at 1/2 brightness.

If your car came with previously modified bulbs you will need to do some tracing to figure out what's going on. Also of course the reflectors themselves were designed for the stock bulb layout so unless they've been heavily modified it's hard to say how well they would work. And that gets you into safety issues...

Good luck!
