Test drive results for 2006 35 coupe

Hi everyone! I love the G35 coupe (hoping to get one this summer) and I test drove one recently and loved every part but the steering and road noise. When I say I didn't love these two things I mean they didn't bother me too much but they were not my favorite. getting on the post, I was wondering if the steering was always so stiff, like almost uncomfortableness stuff. My previous vehicle was a 97 civic and I've also driven an 1988 635csi and neither of those two had steering as stiff.

Basically I'm wondering if it was just that one car or if all 35 coupes or at least the 2006 coupes had such a stiff wheel.

Thanks for baring through this whole thing.

Billy

Road Noise
I went thru this a couple years ago when I first purchased my G. I had terrible road noise especially when I'd brake under 20mph, even tho they were brand new I narrowed it down to the cheap tires that were on the car. I swapped them later on for some Michelin's and it was a night and day difference, no more road noise.

Steering Stiffness
My previous vehicle was a scion and the steering wheel would turn without much force, when I test drove the G I noticed the steering was way stiffer than what I was used to. That night I searched these forums and found various comments confirming it is normal and gave the G a more sportier feel because of it. I don't even notice the stiffness anymore until I drive a different vehicle.

The steering wheel does have a bit of "weight" to it when turning. like the oboe poster said it's to give it a more sporty feel, and honestly I love it waaay more than other cars that you barely have to put any effort into steering it it just doesn't feel right. tire noise is probably bad tires. right before my car was totalled I installed Pirelli P-Zeros on all corners and road noise was reduced extremely
