Manual release for G35 coupe trunk is broken. How to access the trunk?

 

Rear seat folds down, look around in the middle between the seat back and lower seat and you'll find a red nylon rope that you can pull to fold the back seat down.

 

That was note the problem. I have access to the emergency latch, but it is broken, so it will not release the trunk. Was finally able to get the lid covering off and release the trunk with the small catch pin. Then spent the rest of the afternoon repairing the wiring that breaks in the rubber shroud. This is the third time that I have repaired it.

 

You should repair the emergency release while you're at it.
