Issues after replacing door lock actuators
**Mods please relocate if General Tech was not the appropriate place for this.**
For those of you who have replaced your door lock actuators, OEM or aftermarket, did you experience any issues post-install? I recently replaced both of mine with a set of OEM-style aftermarket actuators that I purchased off eBay. After driving with them for about a month now I've noticed 3 specific things occurring that weren't happening prior:
Thanks for any input or suggestions!

I recently replaced both of mine with a set of OEM-style aftermarket actuators that I purchased off eBay. After driving with them for about a month now I've noticed 3 specific things occurring that weren't happening prior:
- The auto-roll down window trick by holding the unlock button on the key fob no longer works properly. It will roll down the windows but once you release the button, they will automatically roll right back up.
- When you turn the car off with the windows in a down position, they will automatically roll up upon exiting the car/opening the door.
- When you turn off the car and remain seated inside, the locks perform this little self-check noise after about 45 seconds.
Thanks for any input or suggestions!

Thanks for the reply, cleric. When you say recalibration, are you referring to the window reset procedure? I did perform that for each window after install and before noticing these things. Or is there some other calibration procedure I overlooked?
Yeah the window recalibration, you might need to do it again, it's not uncommon to require the window recalibration a few times. Especially if you're still using the original regulator which is probably pretty worn.
Basically ANYTIME the window auto up/down function isn't working it usually just needs to be recalibrated.

Well, I continue to experience intermittent issues since replacing my door lock actuators. Whether related to the door lock replacement of not, something seems to be causing a parasitic draw, or the locks to go haywire and drain the battery as a result. I'm occasionally unable to start the car and those times when it's the battery, the locks and other electronics in the car go crazy once recharged.
Here are some videos to show what's happening. What the hell is going on here? Could non-OEM door lock actuators cause this? Did I forget some critical step in the install process related to the lock system? Could it be related to the security system? I'm at a loss...
For reference, it's an '03 Coupe 6MT.

Thanks for the reply @Scorpi0 . I suppose that's possible but from what I recall there's not much involved from a wiring/connector perspective for the actuators. I suspect it's something else that's not jiving with the non-OEM actuators, maybe related to the security system or key sensor?
What say you @cleric670 ? Ever seen or heard of what I'm experiencing in the videos?

A couple of other observations/symptoms to note that I noticed today:
- The driver side will not unlock manually using the key. That’s on me for not checking that during the install. Locking/unlocking mechanism works fine otherwise using the fob and interior switches.
- When sitting in the car after turning it off, the security light is blinking as though it is armed. Maybe this is normal and I’ve never noticed it. But should that happen when the door is unlocked and not armed?
I'll state the obvious but expect you've already checked - has your BCM gotten wet? That's the most common source of our Gs losing their minds.
I'd also suggest pulling back the rubber boot on the driver's door and inspecting the wires that pass through it. Make sure nothing is exposed, frayed or shorting among those wires which are bent back and forth every time you get in and out of the car.
Also be aware that the Power Window Main Switch in the driver's door has some internal processing which can cause odd window behavior. But I'm not sure that would be able to cycle the locks like in your vid - that's crazy.
Let us know what you figure out.
